Eat and Shop, Eat and Shop.

Met up with this pretty girl - Vina today for dinner after work.
Haven't seen her for so long and I thought she grew taller HAHAHA. Like she was wearing flats and I wore platforms but ...

So we initally wanted to go to SOTA to take some nice pictures but apparently there was some event and there were hell alot of people walking pass so being too shy, we decided to just head straight for dinner at Aroy Dee. I LOVE Aroy Dee because they sell super nice and cheap Thai food??? We ordered a plate of Pineapple Fried Rice and Phad Thai (their Phad Thai is damn bomb) and there were no GST and Service Charge so we paid like $6 each only! The portion was just nice for her but a lil more for me; I am a small eater.

Managed to only take a picture of the Pineapple Fried Rice because I was too hungry.

We decided to walk back to town so along the way we found this spot which is somewhere after Plaza Sing (there was a cafe/bar there) and since the sky was still bright we went over to take some pictures.

This was supposed to be my favorite photo but it turned out blur SOBS.

Shopped around at H&M; there was a big sale and the bandage skirts were like $2 each?? But did not really like the clothes that were on sale as the materials were pretty thin. Went home after we chilled at SCAPE and gosh I was so tired!

Till next time!

Zouk

Went to Zouk with my colleagues!

Supposed to be a "Girls' Night Out" but our fellow guy colleague was worried about his "somebody (whom I shall not reveal)" so yeah. We were super early and there was literally no one inside the club so we just picked a table and sat down (of course it was reserved). Had a really great night laughing and dancing till I had sore throat HAHAHA.

But do be careful if you wanna buy bottled drinks from the auntie who used to sell ice. My friend wanted to buy a bottle of plain water and when she found out that the bottle was being reused; usually you need some force to twist the bottle cap and make it snap but hers doesn't require such effort. The auntie was like selling all sorts of drinks at a standard price of $2.50??? LIKE SERIOUSLY $2.50 for water in USED mineral bottles? Think twice. My friend asked for a refund and she got scolded by the auntie.

I guess that same friend was just unlucky; she took a cab and got nagged by the uncle all the way from Zouk to her house about how girls shouldn't drink (she did not drink and we left Zouk like so early???). She told us that the uncle kept asking for directions when she repeatedly gave simple instructions like "go straight" and "turn right". Luckily she reached home safely.

Stayed over at Susana's and couldn't sleep even I laid down for 30 mins HAHA.
So I whispered "Susana, susana" and was expecting nothing cuz I thought that she had fallen asleep. Then suddenly I heard "Yah?" HAHAHA and I asked her for bread because I was rather hungry and had slight gastric.

Then we fell asleep HAHAHA.

Tourists for A Day

I haven't taken any nice photos for quite some time with this girl; the last time we did was I think 2 years ago???

Finally we decided to hang around the CBD to take some street photos... but I guess we just don't end up at the correct places HAHAHA. Was supposed to start sourcing for street/alleys for photo taking but my supervisor just decided to hang around with us TODAY.
We made our way down to the river and then towards esplanade where we got changed and tidy up ourselves. As we decided to become "tourists" for today, stupid Susana started imitating the Australian accent which made me laugh till my stomach hurts and I can't stop physically abusing her. We walked and walked and ended up near the float (what happened to taking street photos sigh). So here goes.

"Don't mess with me."

I really LOVE this shot.

Found this empty car park.

Pretty lady.

"Hey ladies, let me keep you company."

Oops me being unglam.

I think we look like mannequins.

Shoes of the day.

Forgot to take my ez-link card and we had to walk all the way back to our workplace (a big THANK YOU to Susana for accompanying me). But nevertheless, it was a fun day!

My First MRT Breakdown Experience

Finally received my pay today, hence I decided to treat my mum to good food.

Before that, my mum and I went to Thien Hock Keng to say my prayers to Confucius, hoping to bring some luck for my education in the near future. Had Apple, Beetroot and Carrot (ABC) Juice at Amoy Street market, I swear their prices are real cheap as compared to the ones that I had before???

Moved on to town and shopped around before we had our dinner at Imperial Treasure @ Ngee Ann City.

It was around 7:48 pm when we reached Orchard MRT Station, but was shocked to hear the announcement regarding the train fault/breakdown.

I was like "WTH?". My mum and I thought that we heard it wrongly hence we waited for another 5-10 mins for the repeated announcement. Lol, indeed there was no train service for BOTH red and green line. What luck yeah.

We tried to find the nearest bus stop; I thought the bus stop that I had in mind with buses 190 and 700 to Bukit Panjang will be less crowded BUT I was wrong.

Look at this. The amount of people couldn't even fit along the bus stop.

I wanted to hang around, hoping that the lines will be alright in a while (stupid me, since when train breakdowns are solved within an hour), so we walked around a bit and sat down at the fountain at Takashimaya.

After around 15 minutes, we decided to walk towards Dhoby Gaut, hoping that we can get on some bus before the rest of the people in town. Walked all the way to the bus stop right outside Dhoby MRT Station and was so lucky to be able to get on bus 700A despite the scary crowd. We managed to find seats too.

Then I received a text message from my dad saying that he was stuck at Bugis as well. I was pretty worried for him because there weren't many buses available to our destinations and he said that every bus passed by without stopping due to full capacity.

It then daunt on me that, what if this isn't just a normal train fault? What if it was a natural disaster and we are all separated? (I know my powderful brain cannot stop over-thinking) I can't help worrying and thinking of all sorts of possible routes for him to get home.

But that was not the end. We alighted opposite Pending LRT Station and woah, here comes another crowd. But luckily, Two bus 963 arrived . My mum was so 小姐 she actually wanted to give up squeezing and wait for the next one. But having been a part of the workforce recently, I found the tactic to squeeze in and I dragged my mother onto the bus no matter how reluctant she was. Because at this rate, the longer you wait, the larger the crowd gets. As we stopped at each bus stop, the squeezing gets more intense; more and more people start to squeeze on the bus till the point that the door can't even close. We actually had to ask this Indian guy to get off because we had to close the door otherwise the bus could not move. I felt soooo bad for him; he willingly got off the bus without a look of anger or frustration.

So before we reached our destination, I was telling my mum about my brilliant plan about which shuttle buses to take and where to stand so we can avoid the crowd, but HAHA I was wrong. All wrong. At each booth, there was a huge crowd, even for those buses that were just circulating around my area. We gave up and decided to walk home.

So this is how I ended my eventful day. I wrote this post not because I was excited about the breakdown, but I felt like it was something happening in my recent mundane life HAHAHA. Okay off to sleep now, there's work tomorrow sobs.
