Happy Picnic

Today's post is a really quick one... Just wanna update this space with some of the nice photos we took at Botanic Gardens; it was also a "surprise" belated 21st for Stephanie.

We initially wanted Barrage however the fluctuating weather forecast made us choose somewhere nearer and safer (Botanics has quite a number of shelters) so there we were!

Despite the sky being dull and cloudy when I left home, the weather was surprisingly good when we arrived. The deco I would say it's a 8/10 (we made a lot of babies cry because of our beautiful balloons) but apparently our picnic is the "prettiest" among the rest.

There were quite a number of families there also. I swear with the variety of nationalities there you could really tell the difference in terms of parenting style between Caucasians and Asians: the Asians guide their kids in every step they take while the ang mohs just let their kid fall and laugh at them.

CPP was supposed to join us for the picnic however her work cropped up so we could only meet her for dinner. Nevertheless, the catch-up session was really awesome; I love how we share similar backgrounds and values - these made our conversations deep as always.

Am looking forward to the next REAL picnic (with cooked food I swear)! I want to fly a kite soon~

A Short Trip

It's interesting how the four of us just randomly came together and headed for JB hahaha.
So Xin Ye met us at City Square straight where we go for our KTV session a.k.a. free Keith Chua live concert.
It was a really good deal: 10 SGD for buffet lunch and three hours of KTV with four mics.

Afterwards, Xin Ye got her car and brought us to this Jay Chou inspired cafe "Palladium Cafe" where Jon took most of our pictures.

It was right beside this house exhibition and there were buggies around to bring you there if you wanna explore. Because it's not easily accessible without a private transport, the place was rather serene; there weren't many people and for a moment we had the whole cafe to ourselves.
So we started singing.

Ordered some desserts and finger food like fried squid and onion rings; we roughly spent about 3 SGD per person.

So this Keith Chua was bored and he decided to tease the poor waiter:

Round 1 - the waiter served Jon's latte art
Keith: 这个你画的啊?
           Did you draw this?
Waiter: 没有啦,这个是全 Malaysia 第二名画的。
No I didn't, this is made my Malaysia's second best barista.
Keith: 哦。。。所以你是第一名啦?
Oh... So are you the first?
Waiter: 哈哈哈,我没有酱厉害。
             *laughs* No.

Round 2 (the same waiter served our desserts)
Keith: 这个你做的啊?
           Did you make this?
Waiter: 哈哈哈,不是啦。
             *laughs* No.

Round 3 (the waiter served our finger food)
Keith: 这个你炸的啊?
           Did you fry these?
Waiter: 哈哈哈,没有啦我只是打工的。
*laughs* No, I am just a waiter here.

I think the waiter and the other staffs had enough of us. When we left they didn't hesitate to bid us farewell. HAHAHAH.

We climbed to the second level and the view was awesome... despite the slight drizzle.

Please take a moment to appreciate Jon's film photography... *U*

We hopped on to a buggy and headed for the house exhibition.

Keith Chua stories part II:

Keith: 这件房子多少钱啊?
           How much is this house?
Promoter: 800, 000 RM 如果马上还的话。
800, 000 RM if immediate payment.
Keith: 哦。。。那这边最靠近的小学在哪里?
Oh... then where is the nearest primary school?
Promoter: 呃。。。
                 *stun* Er...

Poor promoter... she couldn't handle Keith.

The place was actually like a mini carnival and the entire place was really green and spacious. Each of the houses have their own bbq backyard.

Honestly speaking, the price would have made a good buy (I mean a poor peasant like me will never be able to afford a landed property in Singapore), just that it is quite inconvenient because it's a good 25 min drive from the checkpoint.

I felt so bad, I legit toh-ed in the car and luckily Jon was awake to GPS and keep Xin Ye company...

Jon then left us for a 21st party and we continued to our next cafe.

Had dinner at this hawker centre and had my banmian cravings satisfied.
Wanted to try the Lok Lok but we were too early, which we then headed to KSL and Keith made many attempts at the claw machine only to grab air and finally capture one Toys Story character.

Till next time~

More pictures on my Facebook and, please take two minutes to watch this vlog that I did!
