GRUB Café

So roughly about a month back my friend and I decided to head on to GRUB Cafe for dinner and catch up with each other.
Located across the bridge of Bishan Park, GRUB is quite accessible; it's like a small glasshouse seated beside a pond.
You can choose to seat indoors and enjoy the air-conditioner, or outdoors if you want to enjoy the serenity of Bishan park.
However, due to the presence or the pond and some plantation, there were some insects flying around occasionally...and that night there was this huge bee flying around (we sat indoors) which freaked everybody out. So for a moment there was this mini kallang wave in the cafe HAHAHAHA

Honestly speaking I would have preferred their brunch menu however they do not offer all-day brunch hence I had to settle for this Lime-Mayo Chicken Burger which tasted not bad.
The way that they served the food on the wooden block was quite interesting but I thought it wasn't user friendly for a clumsy person like me HAHA
Like I thought I needed some borders at the side to prevent my chicken from flying out (I can't chop meat well).
Just in case you're wondering why will the chicken fly off, it's because I personally think that the burger was too big to be consumed in bites so I separated it (this is how I eat my McDonald's breakfast set also), so yeah.

The pork burger that my friend ordered.

iFly Sentosa

I was so thankful for being able to join my wonderful neighbours at Sentosa for a blast of my mundane life!
It was my first time "skydiving" in Sentosa and I swear it was really fun and thrilling!
Once you bend forward with your arms crossed, the strong gust of air underneath will immediately blow you up into the air and if you could manage your body well enough, you can even fly up to a maximum of five storeys high!
Luckily we went for the first slot in the morning at 11am because there were alot of tourists after that ._.
If you're bored of exciting things to do in this small island, head towards Sentosa for a once in a lifetime experience!

The Garden Cafe Recipe

Every year I will be back in Malaysia to my mother's hometown for Christmas without fail.
However, this time was a little bit special because we didn't spend our christmas having BBQ but instead, we headed off to this cafe located at Paloh, Johor, about half an hour's ride away from our place.

Located among a residential area, The Garden Cafe Recipe immediately stands out due to it's unique structure.
It is designed in a European style to provide the ambience of having an afternoon tea somewhere in the olden days of Europe.

Their menu is slightly different from our local cafes.
In Singapore, one would expect a brunch menu with ham or poached eggs, but due to the different culture in Malaysia, they serve pastas and noodles instead.
So, we tried on the Smoked Salmon Pasta and the Spaghetti.

Here's a short video:

It was indeed a unique experience to have spent Christmas in a cafe!

Esette

We were supposed to chill at SPRMRKT but sadly it was closed for an event. So we decided to just walk along the streets and that was when we chanced upon this cafe - Esette.

But before that, I met up with Stephanie first to walk around Chinatown (because I have never been there in my entire life).

So here are some pictures before we met up with the rest of the gang (4/6 of Le Bolas - our MRT gang).

Located at 47 Duxton Road, this cafe was rather small as compared to the other restaurants around that area. The walls were lined with posters made up of different Disney characters, and there was this wall right beside the entrance dedicated for the baddies. We were not charged for GST and Service but we were greeted and served by a really helpful and friendly guy!

This was the Chicken and Tomato Wrap (I really forgot what was the actual name for it) which Susana and Stephanie had - cheese, sundried tomatoes and chicken wrapped with soft tacos, served with salad and fries.

And this was the Ham and Spinach Quiche (how do you actually pronounce it) - an open-faced pastry crust filled with savoury custard, cheese, gourmet ham and baby spinach, that Elizabeth and I had, served with salad and fries as well.

It was a pity that we did not have space in our stomach for desserts - the pastries looked really delicious there! I was already struggling with the last few strands of my fries (sigh). It's really worth a second try!
Cheers!

Fresh Tangerine

Recceived a set of 3 stacking rings in gold fill from Fresh Tangerine about a month ago! I could see a lot of effort being put into the packaging to make their customers happy, and the rings were soooo pretty!

I chose the "Twisted" design because I thought it will look more presentable and visible on my rather chubby fingers. Located in Seattle, Fresh Tangerine provides convenient accessories that are delicate and feminine, easiest way to add more details to your daily outfit and make yourself a lil different!

Do check out their website at www.freshtangerine.com for more designs and accessories!

L'zzie

"L'zzie delivers a range of work wear that is greatly inspired by the romance of Parisian country side."

Their clothes varies from monochrome to pastel colours (more of pastel), but if you're the extremely feminine kind, this place has all your clothes! Do check our their website at www.lzzie.com for more designs and new collections!

I was really honoured to be invited by Qiuqiu to attend the opening of L'zzie's new outlet at Clarke Quay Central, whereby she'll choose the outfit that suits us and our hair and makeup will be taken care of. She even did our makeup for us personally! As I rarely put on makeup (usually I'll just do my eyes), that day was the first time that I actually put on heavy make up --- my skin looked flawless! I wonder what brand of foundation they used HAHAHA

So basically after we are done with dressing and touching up, there was a photo taking session, Q&A, and afterwards we get to munch on their delicious looking snacks and some champagne...I loved the peach tart the most! But all the cupcakes and tarts are specially designed to fit the theme of this event --- the sushi cupcake looked soooo real, we were all very amazed by it. Everyone who walked over to the the snacks corner took more photos than actually eating them =.="

Last but not least, we get to keep the outfit that we have been dressed up with... the sizes were a lil big (even though it was already S - the smallest size they have). Hahaha qiuqiu said she had a bit of problem dressing us up because No.1 we're the youngest few there and No.2 the sizes were a bittt big. Maybe L'zzie should come up with a Petite collection.

Well, I had fun and made new friends (and as a cheapo person, the thought of being able to keep the outfit was the most happy part), and I get to meet and take photos with bloggers! It was really a memorable experience!
